The Mavic Mini is the new member of the drone’s family and it attracts everyone because of its new features. These features are not found in the DJI Mavic Air and DJI Spark Fly combo. The most attractive feature in the DJI Mavic Mini is ultra-lightweight. It weighs about 249 grams by making tough competition to the other two drones.

While the DJI Spark weighs about 300g and DJI Mavic Air weighs about 430g which has a high weight when compared to the other two drones.

Cost

In the terms of rate, the DJI Mavic Mini and the DJI Spark costs the same rate of about $399 but the DJI Mavic Air is a little expensive. It costs about $919 but the expensive device consists of an advanced feature that is not found in the other drones.

But if you book the DJI Mavic Air online, you can find some offers and you will get it at a cheaper price.

Range

The range of Mavic Air and Mavic Mini is the same as it can fly up to 4km where the Spark can fly up to 2km. Even though the Magic mini can fly up to 4km, initially it will fly slowly as it has a smaller motor and the overall power will be less.

So when we take the speed rate, the Mavic Mini can fly up to 47km/hr while the Spark can fly up to 50km/hr.

But the Mavic Air will beat these two as it travels up to a maximum speed of 68km/hr in the sport mode.

Design

The Mavic Mini is designed uniquely when compared to Mavic Air and Spark. Even though these two drones have a special and unique design, the Mavic Mini looks great when it stands in between the two.

Also, the Mavic Mini can be easily foldable. The Mavic Air also is foldable but we can’t fold the Spark making us disappointed that we can’t carry it to the outdoors.

Camera

All three drones comprise of same sensors but a slight difference in the resolutions. While taking photos, the Mavic Mini and the Mavic Air can go up to 3200 in manual mode but the Spark is limited up to 1600.

In photo modes, the Mavic Mini doesn’t perform well as they provide only the single shot and interval photo. But the Mavic Air and Spark can provide lots of options like panoramas, burst HDR, and ShallowFocus.

But the Mavic Air is getting more attention in between the photographers as it shoots both JPEG and DNG photos which is not available in the other two drones. The Mavic Air is the only drone that can provide RAW photos. In Spark and Mavic Mini, you can get only JPEG images and not the RAW image.

Flight time and mode

The Mavic Mini has the highest flight time of about 30 minutes and the device is equipped with a 2400mAh battery. But it disappoints us as it lacks sensors which are available in other drones.

The Mavic Air and Spark may have a low flight time of about 21 minutes and 16 minutes with a battery capacity of about 2375mAh and 1480mAh but it has other features.

Both the drones have a “follow me” option which is a lack in the Mavic Mini. And also, the Mavic Air stands best among all because during the obstacles it is best in better landing as it has sensors in forwarding, backward, and downward. While the Spark has sensors in forward and downward but the Mavic Mini lacks the forward sensors and it has a downward sensor.

Apps

The Mavic Mini uses a simplified version of the app called “DJI Fly App” instead of the DJI GO 4 App. Through this DJI Fly app, you can control the camera, flight preference, and QuickShot selection. But the Mavic Air and Spark follows DJI GO 4 app through which you can get greater control over the drone’s settings.

Transmitters

In Mavic Mini, the transmitter gets no LCD display, no back custom buttons, and just operated with a camera and photo button.

The Mavic Air also has similar functions, but it doesn’t have a screen. It comes with latency reducing cable, but limited with custom back options. In Spark, the transmitter is cable-free that connects through Wi-Fi.

Conclusion:

The best drone among all will be depending on your skill sets. If you are a beginner then you can prefer Mavic Mini as the 2.7k video will make it easy to shoot. If you are an intermediate person then you can choose Mavic Air as it has 4k video and it has sensors options too.

But if you find it difficult to buy the accessories separately, then you can go with the DJI Spark as it consists of all the accessories that will beneficial for all levels of users. It has 3 batteries, a multi-charger, property guards to protect the drone, and other space accessories.

If you are a travel person and love to take videos more then I will prefer the Mavic Mini as it is a tiny drone and can take everywhere. It also looks bigger than the Mavic Air and the Spark when it is unfolded.
